The Atlantic Institute of Aromatherapy, located in Tampa, Florida, was established in 1989 to provide quality information, education, and certification in the field of Aromatherapy. The Institute's mission is to further the education standards in all aspects of Aromatherapy, including USA certification, by providing a comprehensive resource for the professional or lay person interested in this fast-growing holistic therapy. The Institute provides for a wide variety of services and products in support of this mission including:

The Institute's classes can provide state certified Continuing Education Credits for licensed massage therapists.The Institute's Director, Sylla Sheppard-Hanger, has worked with essential oils as a Natural Health care practitioner and licensed massage therapist for 25 years. Her fascination with this subject has led her to study with the most knowledgeable people in the field of aromatic and medicinal plants, essential oil research and herbology.
